Hilton Family Diversity Scholarship Program

 
 
 

The Hilton Family Diversity scholarship program awards scholarships to deserving Hispanic students attending any four-year college or university within the United States.This program is designed to help ensure educational access and ease the financial burden of attending college.

Ten Hilton Family Diversity Scholars will be selected to receive re-newable scholarships for $2,500 and will attend the Hilton Scholars Retreat July 26-29, 2010 in Los Angeles, CA.


Application Deadline: February 16th, 2009

Amount of Each Scholarship: Up to $2,500

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must be of Hispanic background
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • Must be studying at an accredited university in the U.S. or Puerto Rico for the upcoming academic year
  • Must be (or plan to be) enrolled full-time as an undergraduate student for the upcoming academic year
  • Must have earned and maintain a cumulative Grade Point Average of no less than 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • Must demonstrate financial need, verified by the financial aid office
  • Must be a permanent resident in the Southern California counties of Imperial, San Diego, Riverside, Orange, Los Angeles, San Bernardino, and Ventura; consideration also given to Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, and Kern county residents.

  • Official transcript - Postmarked by February 16th 
  • Proof of family income - Postmarked by February 16th 
  • Proof of citizenship status - Postmarked by February 16th 
  • Essay - Submitted online by February 16th
  • Letter of Recommendation from professor or teacher - Submitted online by February 16th
  • 2nd Letter of Recommendation from community leader - Submitted online by February 16th Resume - Submitted online by February 16th
  • Financial Aid verification (if chosen as finalist only) - Submitted online in June
