Manuel Candamo Memorial Scholarship Program

Application Deadline: May 15, 2008
Total Scholarship Funds: $ 10,000
Amount of Each Scholarship: $ 2,500

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must be Puerto Rican or of Puerto Rican descent
  • Must be a U.S. citizen residing in Puerto Rico
  • Must be studying at an accredited university in the U.S. or Puerto Rico for the 2008-2009 academic year
  • Must be (or plan to be) enrolled full-time as an undergraduate student for the 2008-2009 academic year
  • Must have earned and maintain a cumulative Grade Point Average of no less than 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • Student must demostrate financial need

Required Documents: Students are encouraged to submit essay and/or letter of recommendation in Spanish.

  • Official transcript - Postmarked by May 15th
  • Proof of family income - Postmarked by May 15th
  • Proof of citizenship status - Postmarked by May 15th
  • Essay - Submitted online by May 15th
  • Letter of Recommendation - Submitted online by May 15th-
  • Resume - Submitted online by May 15th
  • Financial Aid verification (if chosen as semi finalist only) - Submitted online by your financial aid counselor by June 30th
