Do I have to be Hispanic/Latino to apply?

For the majority of scholarships, the answer is yes. You or at least one parent or grandparent in your family must be of Hispanic/ Latino descent.  However, there is no ethnicity requirement for the NASA Motivating Undergraduates in Science and Technology (MUST) scholarship.

Is there a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) requirement?

Yes.  Applicants must have a minimum cumulative 3.00 GPA based on a 4.00 scale.
High School graduating seniors - transcripts must include a cumulative GPA for grades at least 9th through 11th.   
Undergraduate students - transcripts must include a cumulative GPA.
Graduate students - transcripts must include a cumulative GPA

I am older than the traditional college student.  Am I eligible to apply?

Yes.  Our scholarships are not age-based.  Applicants may apply as long as they meet all the eligibility requirements, regardless of age.

How much are HCF scholarship awards?

Scholarships range between $500 to $10,000 depending on the scholarship program and the applicant’s financial need.  See the eligibility & deadlines to see the range in award amounts for each scholarship program.

What does the HCF scholarship pay for?

Scholarship funds may be used for tuition &, fees, books, and other academic related supplies.

Does HCF provide scholarships for summer school?

No.  HCF awards are for the academic year in which you applied.

I attended a high school or University/College in another country.  Am I eligible to apply?

Yes.  Transcripts that are not in English must be accompanied by an official English translation on a 4.0 scale.  Once they are translated please submit the international transcripts along with a copy of the translation.

If I attend a University/ College outside United States or Puerto Rico can I still apply?
